SIRAJ
Siraj is an International artist, composer. producer, educator and CEO of SIRAJ Records. Siraj (Former Professor of Music at Bloomfield College in the Communication Arts and Technology & Former Professor at The University of Dayton) holds a Master’s of Education in Instructional Technologies a Certificate of Advance Graduate Studies in School Administration and a Bachelors Degree from The New England Conservatory where he was a student of the great Jaki Byard, George Russell and the late Joseph Allard.
Siraj’s long association with Mongo Santamaria’s Latin Jazz Orchestra, (regarded as a major exponent of authentic Afro-Cuban music), has brought him to Europe, South America, the Caribbean and the World. Siraj has also performed with the legendary Jazz vocalist “Little Jimmy Scott” where he was a featured soloist.
Critically acclaimed for his solo abilities on saxophone and flute, feels honored to have graced the great stages of The Berlin Philharmonic, Alice Tully Hall and The Apollo Theater with legends such as “Dizzy” Gillespie, Art Blakely, James Brown, Tito Puente, Sammy Cahn and Aretha Franklin just to name a few.
